Born on 18 August 1995 in Kothi town of Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh, Shravan comes from a humble background. His father Ram Sagar Chauhan and mother both faced physical disabilities, shaping his deep empathy for the underprivileged and interest in justice.
He completed his early studies at Adarsh Inter School, Usmanpur, later earned a degree from Ganga Devi Lal Bahadur Degree College in Kothi and Bachelor of Laws. He went on to complete his Master’s in Journalism from Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University.
Career
Shravan initially prepared to join the Indian Army but was rejected due to his height. Undeterred, he turned to journalism to serve the nation in another way. His career began at Gaon Connection, a rural media platform, where he reported on local development and civic issues.
Later, he expanded into electronic and digital platforms, gaining recognition for hard-hitting reports and people-focused storytelling. His reputation grew among government officials and citizens alike for truth-based journalism and ethical standards.
Public Munch and Digital Impact
He launched Public Munch, a dedicated YouTube platform where he uncovers public issues, interviews affected citizens, and shares RTI-based reports. The channel gained wide popularity, and Shravan was awarded the YouTube Silver Play Button for reaching 100,000+ subscribers.
Through Public Munch, he shines light on everyday injustices, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions, often addressing issues overlooked by mainstream media.
Survival and Struggles
In 2019, Shravan was attacked due to his journalistic investigations. Despite life-threatening injuries, he returned stronger and continued his work. His resilience against injustice is a core trait of his career.
